雅思考試寫(xiě)作部分有一個(gè)明顯的特征,那就是題目當(dāng)中經(jīng)常會(huì)出現(xiàn)一些比較有爭(zhēng)議性的話題。這對(duì)于國(guó)內(nèi)考生來(lái)說(shuō),是一個(gè)不小的挑戰(zhàn),因?yàn)槲覀兤綍r(shí)習(xí)慣的是去論證某個(gè)話題有沒(méi)有爭(zhēng)議,或者說(shuō)從某個(gè)角度論證自己的觀點(diǎn),所以在task response這個(gè)部分就很容易吃虧。僅僅從一個(gè)角度去論證,經(jīng)常給考官一個(gè)印象,那就是學(xué)生沒(méi)有完整回應(yīng)題目中蘊(yùn)含的立場(chǎng)。
分析了劍橋雅思4-15中給出的所有高分作文大約25篇,其中“全部同意”或者“全部反對(duì)”題目觀點(diǎn)的范文,僅僅3篇,不足12%,其余都是從雙方立場(chǎng)出發(fā)進(jìn)行討論,然后給出自己的選擇。
雙邊討論之后,如何給出自己的立場(chǎng),這是我們很多雅思學(xué)生必須思考的問(wèn)題。本題給出的兩個(gè)觀點(diǎn)是針?shù)h相對(duì)的:有些人認(rèn)為,大人應(yīng)該給小孩犯錯(cuò)誤的自由,而另外一個(gè)人則認(rèn)為,大人應(yīng)該避免小孩去犯錯(cuò)誤。
對(duì)這樣的題目,我們的選擇可能有如下幾種:
完全同意“大人應(yīng)該給小孩犯錯(cuò)的自由”;
完全同意“大人應(yīng)該避免小孩去犯錯(cuò)誤”;
給小孩犯錯(cuò)的自由是有道理的,同時(shí)避免小孩犯錯(cuò)誤也有道理,因此,兩種做法都有道理;
給小孩犯錯(cuò)的自由是有道理的,同時(shí)避免小孩犯錯(cuò)誤也有道理。但是,到底給犯錯(cuò)的自由還是避免犯錯(cuò)誤,取決于是什么性質(zhì)的錯(cuò)誤;
給小孩犯錯(cuò)的自由是有道理的,同時(shí)避免小孩犯錯(cuò)誤也有道理。但我認(rèn)為,給小孩犯錯(cuò)的自由更好,因?yàn)橹挥薪?jīng)歷過(guò)這些錯(cuò)誤,孩子將來(lái)才會(huì)避免這些錯(cuò)誤;如果將孩子保護(hù)起來(lái)以避免他們犯錯(cuò)誤,他們長(zhǎng)大后很可能反而會(huì)犯下這些錯(cuò)誤。
在以上5種思路中,1、2種是一邊倒的絕對(duì)思維,看起來(lái)觀點(diǎn)明確了,但這是一根筋似的明確,在審題上自然是不完全的;第3種是討論了雙方觀點(diǎn),卻沒(méi)有自己的觀點(diǎn),在審題上也是不可取的;第4、5種則是在討論雙方觀點(diǎn)基礎(chǔ)上給出了自己的觀點(diǎn),是可以采納的。至于到底怎么去寫(xiě),考生可以根據(jù)自己的情況去選擇。
A suggested outline
Para. 1: Making mistakes is part of our life. Some people believe that children should be allowed to make mistakes, while others argue that children should be prevented from making any mistakes.
Para. 2: Our tolerance of children s mistakes will bring about two benefits. (1) Children can really learn from their mistakes and avoid repeating them in future; (2) they will feel free to try new things.
Para. 3: If we try all means to stop children from making mistakes by giving them advice or punishing them, they may probably steer clear of these mistakes and may not get hurt by them.
Para. 4: In my view, children should be given the freedom to make mistakes while they grow up. Learning from direct experience is always better than learning from books or advice. Futhermore, if children get punished for their mistakes, they may lose curiosity and interest in their exploration of the world.
